Can You Be Wrong?
(This post was originally posted on my blog page & moved here to substack)
Is it possible for us to all get along? A big part of that answer lies in how you answer another question: is it possible that you can be wrong about anything?
There's a humorous video called "How to be Correct About Everything All the Time".
It shows great examples of throughout even the history of science, how many times it was found that the accepted consensus of what was considered true ended up being wrong, like how it was once accepted the world was flat & eventually discovered to be round, or how it was once accepted to prescribe heroin as cough medicine to children...
If scientists have been wrong so many times, then how much can you, many of whom have no extensive careers in science, politics, economics, history, etc., can also be wrong?
Throughout history, you will find usually the best answers were found among those who chose objectivity; those who looked for ALL information available. Those who understood that what is widely accepted & even their own beliefs may be wrong. Those who always remained curious & were willing to question everything & all sides.
Extremes tend to only happen when people aren't exposed to any opposing views.
When people can understand this, & get to that place, then conversations will be able to happen & people will be able to get along, even when opinions differ. Because we'll understand there is always a possibility we can be wrong.
That is what I hope to accomplish with this blog & my channel. To create conversations. To give exposure to all sides of arguments. To bring people toward the center & bring an understanding to our own abilities to be wrong.
This is a place for those who are more concerned about being objective & finding truth over their pride, ego, & reputation.
To be open to potentially becoming fellow "walking conundrums".
